Polyphony will make their New Mexico debut on December 15th as part of the Friends of Cathedral Music at the Cathedral Church of St. John.  The repertoire on the program includes works by Hildegard von Bingen, Antony Baldwin, Eleanor Daley, Guillaume Dufay, Patrick Hadley, Tarik O'Regan, and featuring Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols.

CANTAT, a vocal ensemble formed by Santa Fe Music Works
CANTAT, a vocal ensemble formed by Santa Fe Music Works to present a concert of music by award-winning New Mexico composer, Mary Badarak, with guest director, Maxine Thévenot.  Concerts took place September 8 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Santa Fe, and September 9, 2006 at the Cathedral Church of St. John, Albuquerque.

The Cathedral Church of St. John commissioned  distinguished American composer, Stephen Paulus to write a new anthem on the text New every morning is the love (John Kebel).  The commission is the first in the Cathedral Commissioning program and was supported by Dr. Steven Bush and Dr. Peggie Findlay.  The performance took place, Sunday, May 14, 2006 with the Cathedral Choirs, organist Maxine Thevenot, and conductor Iain Quinn.

A goofy shot after the May 3, 2006 performance of Ode for Saint Cecilia's Day by Henry Purcell, (1692 version) which took place at St. James Chapel, Union Theological Seminary, New York City.  The combined choruses of Concentus and Camerata were accompanied by orchestral members from the Manhattan School of Music.  I was thrilled to be playing continuo for this amazing work.
     
 
Maxine and Principal University Organist, Eric Plutz.  Wednesday, May 3, 2006, following her recital at Princeton University Chapel, New Jersey.   Maxine and Associate Organist of Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue, Jeremy Bruns.   Sunday, April 23rd, following her recital at Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue, New York City which included the US premiere of Five Liturgical Inventions by Victor Togni.
     
 
Bruce Shultz, Maxine, John French and Enos Schupp at Chestnut Hill Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania following Maxine's recital on the Mander organ.  The recital was held on Sunday, April 30, 2006, as part of the Bomberger Hall recital series, Ursinus College.    Maxine and conductor Christopher Lyndon-Gee at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Garden City, New York.  Maxine played the Concerto for Organ and Strings by Richard Proulx and the Organ Concerto in B-flat, Opus 4 No. 6 of G.F. Handel with the Adelphi University Orchestra.

Malcolm Archer (Organist & Master of the Choristers, St. Paul's Cathedral, London, UK), Maxine Thevenot, Iain Quinn

Mr. Archer conducted the US premiere of his Missa Omnes Sancti at the 11:15 am liturgy on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Cathedral Church of St. John, Albuquerque, NM.  The Cathedral Choir was accompanied by Maxine Thevenot.

February 12, 2006   Pictured are Lou Ann and James Litton, Maxine Thévenot and Iain Quinn.  Dr. Litton directed the morning liturgies at the Cathedral Choir of St. John, Albuquerque, NM in performances of Howells' Te Deum and Jubilate.   I enjoyed accompanying these great works under his direction.

Meet the King. Seated at the organ are Laurie Thomas, narrator and Maxine Thevenot, organist as well as several of the concert attendees of George Akerley's Sweet for Mother Goose.  The morning's activities for attendees included a pipe organ demonstration, a short video about the organ and the chance to touch and blow on pipes, and play the organ.
