On May 20th, 2007 the Choir of the Cathedral Church of St. John, Albuquerque, NM, gave the premiere of David Arcus's The Head That Once was Crowned with Thorns in the presence of the composer. The performance was conducted by Maxine Thévenot (Associate Organist-Choir Director) and accompanied by Iain Quinn (Director of Cathedral Music & Organist). The premiere was part of the Cathedral Commissions program and generously supported by Jay Hill, Esq. The program commissions new works for the Cathedral on an annual basis.

Prof. Bradley Ellingboe, Founding Director of Las Cantantes, and Dr. Maxine Thévenot, newly appointed director of Las Cantantes, the women's choir at UNM. After 14 years as their Director, Ellingboe passes on the baton to Thevenot at his final concert with them on April 29th.

On February 10, 2007, the Cathedral Church of St. John, NM, presented the second annual Trelease Memorial Concert honoring the life and ministry of The Right Reverend Richard M. Trelease, Jr., former Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande. The concert featured the Cathedral Choirs, guest soloists, members of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and conductors Iain Quinn (Director of Cathedral Music & Organist) and Maxine Thevenot (Associate Organist-Choir Director). The all-Bach concert featured Cantatas 72 (Alles nur nach Gottes willen), 106 (Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit), 192 (Nun danket alle Gott) and the Motet, Komm Jesu, komm. It was a dream come true having the opportunity to conduct 106-Actus Tragicus.

Polyphony will make their New Mexico debut on December 15th as part of the Friends of Cathedral Music at the Cathedral Church of St. John. The repertoire on the program includes works by Hildegard von Bingen, Antony Baldwin, Eleanor Daley, Guillaume Dufay, Patrick Hadley, Tarik O'Regan, and featuring Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols.
